PEACE

By Diana Lee

Unparallel, perpetual, and universal,
Cherished, desired and treasured by all,
Yet defies language, culture, or class,
And so elusive to grasp.

Promises the young hope, security, and felicity,
To grow up free of hate, suffering, and hostility.
Passes warmth and friendship from hand to hand,
While shames wars and terrorism from land to land.
Challenges us to mend shattered feelings,
Also to spread compassion and sincere greetings.

Makes no judgment as to what has been done,
But forgives and blesses every single one.
Opens the future with sunshine and a smile,
While closes the bitter past in a commendable style.

Time to lay down our deadly arms,
And start worshipping its essential charms.
If civilizations were ever to thrive,
The human race must survive.
To share out planet happily together,
The answer is global peace forever!
